“Está claro que, en la lista de propósitos de 2023, la mayoría de las personas quieren lograr el peso ideal o perder las libras que ganaron en las fiestas de fin de año. Es una tendencia marcada”, subrayó.

Miami, 11 enero (Notistarz).- Las personas cuando logran perder 20 libras (9.07 kilos) en su peso, pueden ganar siete años más de vida, aseguró la médica dominicana Acosta Then, especializada en endoscopia bariátrica.

De acuerdo con la Dra. Acosta Then, cuando hay una reducción en el peso corporal todo empieza a cambiar en las personas. “No solo la parte exterior, sino también la interior, al recuperar la autoestima, la energía y lo que se ve más allá del espejo”.

“Soy un caso real y verdadero, que demuestra que sí se puede. Desde muy niña fui obesa, sufrí de bullying por ello sé lo que se siente al ganar y perder peso. Sin embargo, eso nunca me desmotivó. Al contrario, me convertí en la directora médica del centro de endoscopia bariátrica más feliz del mundo, Salutte Feliz”, comentó Acosta Then.

Muchas personas-comenta- “pasan del estrés de las celebraciones de fin de año y de los regalos de Navidad a preocuparse por perder esas libras que sumaron por los excesos en las comidas. Esto hace más difícil la meta, dado que todo estímulo para alcanzar el peso ideal se inicia en la mente y en lo que nos decimos a diario”.

Para Acosta Then, “ver más allá del espejo es gran parte de la solución para iniciar un plan nutricional sano, valorando primero lo que somos por dentro y la capacidad que tenemos de sobreponernos, sin desmotivarnos porque estamos en sobrepeso”.

“Está claro que, en la lista de propósitos de 2023, la mayoría de las personas quieren lograr el peso ideal o perder las libras que ganaron en las fiestas de fin de año. Es una tendencia marcada”, subrayó.

Afirmó que con la importancia que han ganado las redes sociales, tanto los adolescentes como los adultos de más de 65 años, buscan los métodos para mantenerse en un peso saludable que les permita una vida más feliz.

Acosta Then es la primera dominicana en pertenecer a la Sociedad de Endoscopia Bariátrica de Estados Unidos. Tiene formación como endoscopista bariátrica en Madrid y Brasil.

Fue seleccionada Mujer del Año 2019 en el sector salud por su desempeño en los programas de pérdida de peso y endoscopia bariátrica.
